BOTANICAL INFORMATION

Pinus Eldarica - also called Afghan, Mondell, Eldarica, and Desert Pine.  Eldarica pine's polycyclic growth habit and deep root system allow it to fully utilize the long growing seasons and deep soil moisture reserves found in the regions of he southwestern United States.  Furthermore, test on the wood properties of eldarica pine indicate it has potential for manufactured wood, paper-pulp and fuel wood production (Fisher 1985).

PLANTATION

We have over 400 trees.  The trees originated from seedlings produced by New Mexico State University, from seed collected in Afghanistan.

SEEDS PER POUND

Approximately 4,000 high quality seed per pound.

This price includes shipping and handling within the continental United States.

CLEANLINESS

Final cleaning and inspection is done by hand.  Seeds are uniform and virtually trash free.

MOISTURE CONTENT

6% or less.  Increasing the moisture content will decrease the germination period.

METHOD OF PAYMENT

We accept money orders and cashiers checks.  Business and personal checks will be accepted but your order will be shipped 10 business days after your payment is received.  Ten percent (10%) of the selling price will be donated to the Pinus Eldarica research program at New Mexico State University (Dr. John Mexal provides oversight of the research).
